Why do different Qi Men calculators produce different charts for the same time?
The usual causes are the structuring method, chart style and time-correction convention. Chai Bu follows the actual solar term and uses the leading day to fix the Yuan. Zhi Run preserves the three-Yuan sequence through intercalation, while Mao Shan divides the days of each solar term directly. Rotating and Flying charts also distribute Stars, Doors and Deities differently. Guanyitang uses Hourly Rotating Qi Men, defaults to Chai Bu and lets you select Zhi Run or Mao Shan. True solar correction applies only when enabled and supplied with a current location. Check these conventions before comparing two charts.
How serious are Door Constrained and Six Yi Punishment in Qi Men?
Door Constrained means the element of a Door controls the element of the palace it occupies, so the Door expends its own strength. Six Yi Punishment occurs when Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren or Gui falls into the palace that punishes the branch of its hidden Jia. Both can indicate friction, loss or internal strain, but neither should be read apart from the focal symbol, seasonal strength, Void, other formations and the actual question. They are better used to identify resistance and prepare contingencies than treated as an unavoidable verdict.
How can Qi Men be used for negotiation, direction and travel timing?
Begin with the Day Stem for your side and the Hour Stem for the matter, then identify the other party or target symbol. Compare the Door, Star, Deity, Wonder and elemental relations in each palace. For a negotiation, interview or journey, the Open, Life and Rest Doors, Zhi Fu and Jiu Tian can be compared with actual routes, seating and time windows, while clear Punishment, Entering the Tomb, Door Constrained or Void conditions call for caution. Qi Men ranks conditions and highlights risk; it does not replace transport safety, contracts or professional judgement.
How should Qi Men Dun Jia be used alongside BaZi or Zi Wei Dou Shu?
BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu use the birth moment to examine long-term disposition, life themes and major phases. Qi Men Dun Jia uses the enquiry moment to examine the present conditions and tactics around one project, negotiation, investment, relationship or journey. A natal chart can frame the longer direction and Qi Men can compare a specific action window, but no divination method should make medical, legal, investment or life decisions on your behalf.
